For anybody who lived in, or around, the brewery ad-buy market of Little Old New York: here is the best jingle ever, as I remember it, in Waldteufel’s own three-quarter time:
View too the famous “marching beer bottles” ad, with the jingle in 2/2…no, 6/8 march time. These ads linger.
I sing this song all the time. I thought it was Wagner.

Not to mention those luscious annual Rheingold Girls that we looked forward to seeing! Plus Rheingold was a good beer.

I saw a notice online that some foodie entrepreneur bought the brand and tried to bring it back about ten years ago. I don’t know if it worked, or where it might be available — New York I guess.

I sing the waltz all the time too! Scarier, I found these last night, and I woke up this morning with my brain singing: “East Side, West Side, All Around the Town, Rheingold Extra Dry Beer, is the beer of great renown…” I’d never heard that before in my life. SEARED on my synapses at one hearing.

Since I remember some of the lyrics of the Rheingold commercial, so I decided to share them here. FYI, I grew up in New Jersey and, when I was a kid, Rheingold was a New York Mets’ sponsor.
My beer is Rheingold the dry beer,
Think of Rheingold whenever you try beer,
It’s refreshing, not sweet,
It’s the extra-dry treat,
Won’t you try extra-dry Rheingold beer?
