Random scenes from the 2018 Dragon Parade. It’s very cool how the Mexican-American community, which shares the Pueblo with the Chinese, supports the parade.

Janet and Damon and I attended the Chinatown New Year Dragon Parade, the 119th annual outing for this amazing LA institution. It was everything you imagine – firecrackers, dragons, moon cakes. The temples were open and crowded with worshipers (tolerant of us tourists.) The great hall was smoking with incense and fragrant with the fresh fruit on the altars. We had a grand time, and some terrible food. (The VV View will be kind; but don’t dine on Alpine.)
Happy Lunar New Year, 2018… it’s the Year of the Dog.
Good puppy. Good Dog. Down. Down! That’s it. Good pup.
